Hi there ... It's been a while hasn't it? I am sorry for not writing on my blog for a while. Life has been busy and sometimes I just need to be inspired and in the right frame of mind to sit and just write - and not worry about being judged by others.
At present I am still working as a Teacher of the Deaf in a school which is Mainstream and has a unit for Deaf students attached to it. I work there three days a week which I enjoy, as I work with amazing children who are just a delight to be with and make my job so rewarding.
I have since, I last blogged got back to teaching BSL (British Sign Language) - I took a break for a few years as I felt I had lost my mojo. Luckily it came back and I was raring to go! I decided to give my signing class a name which is Love to Communicate. I have a page on FB, which you are very welcome to like and follow!
I teach amazing families who have children who are Deaf and the whole family are inspired to learn so that they are able to communicate altogether, isn't that amazing?
I also teach small groups Level 1 BSL where they are able to take an assessment if they wish at the end of each module and will walk away with a qualification which is so valuable in every walk of life.
I am currently planning 10 week courses so that people who are intrigued and want to learn a few signs can, and maybe they will take this further and do a Level 1 course in the future! The short courses have no assessment but are useful for people who work in the public, say Cafes, Supermarkets, Surgeries, Hospitals, Restaurants, Traffic wardens, Police, Fire Services and so more.
